Does anyone have information explaning the JD Hydraulic oil specifications.I want to service the transmission and filter on my 850, and I don't thinkJD is the only available oil for it. It calls for JDM J20 in the manual.What is the standard ISO grade, viscosity, and weight? Or where can I cross the JDM specs to other oils?

I think you will find its tractor Hyd Fluid. the new spec. is J20A In the Mobil oil line its called Mobilfluid 424 its a tractor hyd 10w-30 multi use oil. hope this helps ....

Texaco TDH1893 is another. Chevron, Shell, Sun, Amoco all make a compatable J20A/J20c fluids as well as a number of other manufacturers. It's basically a hydraulic transmission/wet brake fluid. Shouldn't be a problem to find it in qt., 2gal. or bulk quantitys. Even Kubota UDT is J20A compat. Lee ....
